Why does it seem crazier to many Christians that atheists don't believe in a god, yet . . .?

Well, you certainly aren't the first person to find themselves at this crossroads, and you won't be the last. We all take many twists and turns along the path of life, whether we are atheist, Christian, or whatever. I would hope people would keep that in mind when discussing this with you.

You might want to read some books by people who have experienced something similar. Ann (or Anne) Lamott's Traveling Mercies, and Kathleen Norris's works such as "Amazing Grace: A vocabulary of faith" might be helpful. If you want to come back to church, just go.

God will certainly welcome you. (Although I know it might feel awkward for a while.) I've found that churches near college campuses often are good environments for people who are seeking, because they are used to students and faculty who are in a state of spiritual flux. All the best to you; you can email me if you like.

I was an Agnostic for some time, I have found that even just being a Spiritualist(faith and morals, minus the constant worship) can be rewarding. But, to answer your question, any church will be willing and happy to accept you. All you need is a faith in God, a belief in God(some frown on questioning His existance, but some also welcome the questioning), and just having the values of a decent human being, who is willing to sacrifice what they can to help others.

While Atheists don't believe in God, whether they want to admit it or not, Atheism in itself is a form of religion, because there are still guiding principles. I would suggest searching out a religion that suits you best, and good luck! EDIT-I may still be one of the lost lambs.....there is nothing wrong with Christianity, most religions are a form of it.

A Christian is one who believes in Christ. Even the Jewish are a form of Christians.(they believed he was a prophet, but still believed in His existance) DOUBLE EDIT-True Christians believe that Jesus is the SON of God, who died for your sins, and all are welcome in His home.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
