Why does Pregnacare® not include calcium, which is important during pregnancy?

Calcium is an essential mineral throughout pregnancy and breast-feeding. However it has not been included in the Pregnacare® formula, since it is not possible to include the right amount in one small tablet, and secondly calcium is known to inhibit the absorption of iron and trace elements. Rather than including just a token amount of calcium, Pregnacare® has therefore been designed so that it can be used with Vitabiotics' Osteocare® tablets or liquid.
