Why doesn't Askville notify me when there are new posts in the "bulletin board" section of my questions?

Unless I am missing something, I do not get notifications either on myaskville frontpage, or in my email if someone posts in the bulletin, rather than as a question. I like to read the bulletins too, and this goes for the bulletins I post comments in as well. So unless I stay on top of all the bulletins I participate in or check my own answers regularly, I wouldn't know if there was new discussion or developments?

You don't get notifications for posts on your Discussion Boards! However if you go to My Askville and click on Discussions you may see the most active DB's coming up as soon as there is a new comment on them. That would cover all questions that you asked or answered or posted any comment in the discussion section.

Check that out and look at the column that shows the number of posts on the DB and when the last comment has been posted! Personally I disabled all notifications from Askville! I don't like getting too many emails.

I would prefer to check them as I log in to my Askville. Hope this helps. Sources: personal experience Google Map View Larger Map .

My Askville-->Discussions When you log in and go into "My Askville" in the drop-down (down pointing triangle in green button) there is a section called "Discussions". Whatever discussions are at the top are most recent, and it tells you how long it’s been since a new posting. So if you last checked your discussions yesterday, and there is one post in one of your discussions that’s 6 hours old, then you know that’s the only new one.

1 I've always thought that would be a good idea, too. But it would have to be faster than the notices in the recent actions box. It doesn't show private messages in the inbox unless it's been there a long time.

My email notifies me, but you go to your page & it's not there. It doesn't keep up. There's a lot of needless jumping around on here.

I have read some nice ones. " "Somewhere in my Askville travels, I ran across this statement "every time someone posts in a discussion board, 1 coin" "Why doesn't Askville Notify us....." "What's the motivation for answering questions in askville? " "Your question was submitted under Askville and we will notify you when an answer comes in.

" "How many questions are there on Askville? " "Friends section on askville? " "On Askville, why do many people answer questions on the discussion board instead of the answer section?

" "Will the bulletin board on askville allow html or css and is there any other place that will accept it?

Your question was submitted under Askville and we will notify you when an answer comes in.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
