Why is it, on forms that ask about ethnicity, they have to ask you a second time if you are hispanic/latino?

This may be a case of my ignorance--but you know when you fill out some forms that ask you your ethnicity, I have noticed that they have a SECOND question specifying if you are of hispanic/latino origin. Why do they have to ask twice? Or is it twice?

Many people don't realize spanic/Latino is not in the racial category, it is under ethnicity. An individual may choose spanic/Latino and then their race(s). Or an individual would choose "No" to spanic/Latino and then choose their race(s).

For race you are either white, black , asian or native american (debatable). Ethnicity is your culture. For example someone who is of European desent (Caucasian/White) but was born and raised in a country with Spanish culture like Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, is That’s the best example I can think of.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
