Why is it that the total (ever) goes up as (1 day) goes down?

The views are not based on the calendar day, they are based on the past 24 hours. It's a running total that get updated throughout the day. So, if you check your daily page views at 1pm, you are seeing your views from approximately the last 24 hours - 1pm the previous day to up to 1pm that day.

If you check it again at 3pm, your daily view total might go down, because you happened to have had some traffic between 1-3pm the day before, but you didn't have as much during that time that day. As for the hubscores, there really is just so much that goes into them that it is hard to say. I have started a new hub, put nothing more than a title & two key words, and left it sitting for a couple of days unpublished; it had gone up to a hubscore of 60 before with nothing written in it.

I have others that I have added some content to, and then the score drops below 50 before publishing. I have some published that bounce between a score of 70 to 90 back and forth with no changes in content. Hubscores are really mostly for your own benefit; it gives you an idea of how original and well written your article is.

When people outside of hubpages do a search and find your hub, the hubscore means absolutely nothing to them. So really, as long as you are satisfied with the quality of your hub, it's nothing to worry about if it drops.

I imagine it is a goad that is meant to get you to write or edit what you have written some more. People can also hop to your page and vote it up and down at will.

I was wondering about that too because it happened to my new hub. At first, in 1 or 2 days it went down to 49/48 and then it went up to 50 or more.

50 is just a starting point, and the score grows from there.

I totally agree with Antonia Monacelli. As of December 20, 2010 A.D. I have 1 unpublished hub with 904 ever views. It is a total success as far as I am concerned.

I am not writting anymore hubs and will now just sit back and watch the money flow in with my 1 unpublished hub that is closing in on 1000 ever views in 6 months from when I started on hubpages on June 3, 2010 A.D. My hubscore is at 65 now and my ever views total is now 905. It is multiplying like rabbits.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
