Why is it that they say 'put your two cents in' but they say 'a penny for your thoughts'..?

Maybe because it's in human nature to offer more thoughts than to be awfully interested in getting anyone's thoughts.

Much of the time, people say they put their two cents in - and have actually put in a dollar-and-a-half's worth (or five-dollars' worth).

I believe you have uncovered the scam of the century! If 100 million people put their two cents in, yet are only given back a penny for their thoughts... why "they" just got a nice vacation to the Caiman Islands!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
