Why is it that when a nonchristian quotes the bible, especially Christ's words, to promote peace and tolerance?

There is a psychic value in repentance. It doesn't have to be a religious thing, to realize that you've done something wrong, to try to make it up to your 'victim' if there is one, and to promise yourself not to do it again. It can help you feel better.

It's really just human nature to make mistakes, realize them, and want to make up for them and avoid them in the future. In fact the non-religious version of repentance is better, because it requires you to be intellectually honest with yourself. You have total 'freedom of thought' over what you did wrong, and how best to deal with it, rather than have to behave according to 'potted' rules made by others, often centuries ago.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
