Why is my screen saver reverting to "none" almost every evening?

I use My Pictures as my screen saver although that is probably not relevant. For some odd reason and only just very recently my screensaver does not engage as it should (after a ten minute idle period) It's quite strange and I'm just not sure where to go to fix it. I do go to the control panel and re-engage the screensaver, but it's not "holding" it because I have to do it again the next evening.

My SS engages often throughout the day and at a lot of different times when I'm away from my desk - this phenomenon only happens in the evening. So I go to Start/Control Panel/Appearance and Themes/Choose Screensaver/scroll to select My Pictures Slideshow/Apply/OKBut I have to do it again the next evening. What gives?

Could be a conflict with two settings that affect your screen savers. If you have the power options set to begin in ten minutes from last use; the power saver will kick in and your computer will go to sleep after ten minutes, then that is what it will do.
