Why is phlegm sticky?

Sticky mucus traps small particles that are inhaled through the mouth and nose and washes them down the throat via tiny cilia (small hairs) before they ever have a chance to get into the lungs. The body makes it sticky so the harmful particles get stuck in it. The sticky phlegm also makes it more difficult for you to breath when you are sick, making you have that coughing feeling, expelling the phlegm and bacteria/ virus with it.It's your body's natural "fly trap" for pests such as harmful bacteria.

I'm no doctor but I assume it has something to do with making it easier to collect and get rid of the bacteria and other crap in our bodies making us sick.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
