Why is society blind to the goings on in the world, somtimes I see the middle classes they remind me the clones with no will of their own?

I doubt it is blindness as everyone knows what is going on in the world, even if someone does not have internet or tv, people talk. Some people just think, lets leave it to governments to solve, whilst others complain governments are not doing enough. Even if you only help one person in a life time towards a better life, is also others opinions.

Things are trickier than just offering handouts in some countries. Years ago I decided to round up a load of people for second hand clothing, shoes and toys etc for an area in Africa to help out the children. I thought supplying footballs or soccerballs, skipping or jump ropes and other toys as well as clothes and shoes (of which some we bought brand new) would put a smile on some peoples faces.

I paid for the containers and shipments myself. I paid for the export paperwork etc with the shipment guy etc but when it all arrived in a certain place in Africa, officials refused to deliver everything and I assume kept it etc.. I have also seen millionaires offering their services to help villages in Africa towards better water etc but all that happened was a school was built and a guy or two overcharged incredibly for this and when water solutions were offered to help the children not have to walk so far everyday collecting small amounts of water, it was refused. It is like what is happening in the east today really... The only reason areas in the east don't want to change is because particular men incharge are afraid of losing control by modernising their countries.

There are so many beautiful places in the world and the ones with current war issues are probably on the number one list of beauty and if war stopped and tourism flourished everyone in those areas could also flourish but then the ones in charge would lose control. Women would become modern and the younger generations would too. The older generations would not like that at all, in reality.

Some countries still live by rules that were created thousands of years ago and have not moved with the times and until these individuals in power are overthrown by peaceful and open-minded individuals, nothing much will ever change. I won't mention names or countries in this comment but I knew a very hard working man who travelled to another county leaving his wife and two daughters behind so he could put food on their tables and pay for education for his daughters, he spent christmas's with us etc.. he hadn't seen his family for almost ten years because even with his written conscent, his government would not allow his wife or daughters to travel because they were female without a man present and I know this was true because I tried to help him and failed.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
