Why isn't Christianity considered mythology while the Greek and Roman gods are?

Most hypocritical compared to ...? Our system has been opened wide to the influence of the power that issues from wealth. The GOP serves as a handmaiden for the ambitions of the Koch brothers, the Wall Street speculators seeking freedom from regulation, the corporations demanding no-bid government contracts and--at the local level--to deliver tax breaks and municipal subsidies for the likes of Target and WalMart while denying them to small businessmen (and their competitors) unable to wield the power founded on great wealth. Still, everyone who gets elected needs votes.

If teachers' votes may decide an election, it is tempting to throw them a bone--especially after having scapegoated them and, especially, their unions, for the candidate's failures. The need (or lack of it) for a particular project is not a significant factor at the local level. No matter how much a candidate rails (for show) at government spending, he knows that he must bring home the bacon.

He also knows that a construction company with exceptional power will back another candidate if the latter promises building (however unnecessary) that that company wants. On the other hand, to exercise power, a party must hold power. Should Obama succeed in getting legislation passed that will spend tens of billions on repairing and modernizing the collapsing infrastructure of our nation, he and his party will claim (rightly) the credit and the next Democratic candidate will stand a good chance of becoming president.

The GOP, then, opposes every bill that could create jobs because job creation leads to satisfaction with the party in power. Still, the GOP does not invest in education, health, and infrastructure even when it is in power. Again, why?

Because its high-powered wealthy masters cherry-pick only projects for the corporations they own or control and because they demand policies that channel our resources into their stock funds and their financial institutions.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
