You don't have to pick the wallet up. If you saw it and just left it there, there's no trouble you could get into. It would have been better to pick it up and turn it in to someone responsible, but if you didn't, you can't get into trouble.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
