Why "W" is called "double-U"? Why not something like "vee" or "voo" , ie How can an alphabet contain another word - "double"?

W is the twenty third letter in the English alphabet. Its origin is actually a double V. It is the only letter made this way so that's probably why the double pronunciation does not occur anywhere else.

The VV became popular after the Norman conquest. Fascinating Interestingly in German the W is still pronounced V Volkswagon is pronounced Volksvagon in German.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
