Will a 90-Year-Old Corpse Help Cure Bird Flu?

Monday September 22, 2008Scientists seem to think so. After getting approval from his grandchildren, scientists decided to dig up the body of Sir Mark Sykes. Sykes, who had died of the Spanish flu in 1919 during the pandemic, was buried in a lead coffin in the graveyard of St Mary's Church in Yorkshire, England.

Because of the lead coffin, it is hoped that DNA from the Spanish flu virus might still be found in Sykes' remains. By being able to examine the virus' DNA, scientists hope to learn more about the Spanish flu, which might share similar properties to the bird flu. Comments (2)See All PostsShare.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
