I hope not I love New Orleans! I saw something on TV the other night about what is going on with the oysters in new Orleans. They were interviewing the owner of Acme Oysters house which is a landmark in New Orleans.

We ate there on our last trip to New Orleans and the oysters were as big as my fist. Yummy! He said the restaurant has sixteen oyster beds but now they are down to eight.

He also said business is booming and people there are eating oysters like they will never see another oyster again. Acme owners say that they can keep their business going with the oyster beds they have but they will have to raise prices. He also said if worse comes to worse they can purchase oysters from California.

The problem is that California oysters have a different taste from oysters that come from the gulf. I feel so bad for the people of New Orleans! Their whole lifestyle comes from the tourist industry and seafood.

The people there are so warm and friendly. By the way I never saw people shuck oysters as fast as those guys at acme. I like them raw with a little lemon and cocktail sauce.

Ummmmmmm! Video .

1 No oysters, no soft shell crab, no shrimpNot just NOLA either, my stomping ground beaches are screwed as well, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. No more po'boys, no more etouffe, no more jambalaya, no more seafood gumbo. There is no telling how long this is going to be a problem.

I assume the oyster beds are tainted to the point they are going to be dying off soon. If I am not mistaken, if and when things get cleaned up, they might have to "reseed" the beds from distant, cleaner areas. Prices will be ridiculously high.

The entire ecosystem is FUBAR'd. My heart is broken for the animals, the land and the people that depend on them both for their own survival.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
