Will sending an attachment to a list of 1000 emails put me onto a spam list?

Spam blockers like Postini calculate the likelihood of your email being a spam by using various closely guarded metrics. Adding attachments will automatically give your mail a higher score as it is more likely to contain a virus or trojan. If your mail server is not registered with reverse DNS then it is highly likely to be blocked.

The same with the content, if you use lots of high value words and phrases like "buy now", "viagra" and "$$$" then again you are more likely to get blocked. It's hard to tell how you get onto a blacklist, and getting off blacklists is a bit difficult but can usually be achieved in a few hours. The best thing to do is ensure everyone on the email has asked to be on it.

You should also provide an unsubscribe link to allow people to get off the address list if they wish. Personally I would just send out an email with a link to the attachment, therefore only people who want the attachment would get it.

We have a website that requires to send 1000+ emails a day to all the customers who opted for the alerts. In couple of months time we are expecting to raise our customer base to 5,000 and so we may need to send 5000+ mails every day. At the moment we are using GoDaddy email server(the email services associated with our domain) and it permits us to send only 250 mails a day.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
