Will the new Friday the 13th Remake meet expectations of the previous movies?

P>I'm hoping the new movie will throw out the expectations of the earlier movies. While the original Friday is a classic, its spawn are all ridiculous, underwhelming piles of garbage. I'm expecting instead that the new movie (with the help of Jared Padalecki from "Supernatural") will elevate the concept in much the same way that Rob Zombie's Halloween elevated that concept.

The original Halloween is impressive but its subsequent sequels are crappy. Zombie took the original idea and some of the later ones, combined them, and spun together a movie that at least took itself seriously and was proud of its story and its genre. So I'm hoping (and sort of expecting from the trailers)that Friday will be less of a joke (see Jason X) and more like that.

While I believe most movies that are remade today are pretty good if you never saw the original. I think if you have seen the original movie then no matter how many retakes they make they will never compare to the original.

After about the first three Friday the 13th movies, I think expectations for the movies began to sink pretty low (I can't even remember how many there were), so I think that the Remake will meet the low expectations that people have come to have for these sorts of flicks. Add to that the fact that the target audience for this movie probably wasn't born when the original came out, so they might not even know what to expect. That being said, the original is still a classic horror movie and is ingrained in many people's heads - so that may be a disadvantage.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
