Many intelligent futurists think so. As long as religion plays a dominant role in political affairs, the answer is no. Because religion is open to interpretation, change, etc., there will be disputes over it.
Arguably every war that has ever occurred started in part because of religion. Certainly the Middle Eastern issues of today are! It's a war between the Jews, Sunni and Shia Muslims, and other religions.
So why will this probably change? Because the people in the Middle East realize that religion is becoming a problem! They know that religion is the main reason why all the fighting, disputes, deaths, and terrorism is taking place.
They want normal lives, so many top futurists believe that we will see a decline of religious influence in the Middle East. With this decline will come a decrease in violence and a rise of peaceful lifestyles. Interestingly enough, China is undergoing the complete opposite reform.
Over recent years, religion has became a very influential aspect in their politics. They may very well succumb to the problems currently plaguing the Middle East if this is not put under control. Thus, there will be a degree of peace within the Middle East.
But many of the current conflicts in the Middle East are ongoing issues from the mid-1900s. We will probably see an end to much of the fighting in a few decades. I will be shocked if the fighting elevates over the course of this time period.
By the year 2050, I'm sure that many of the causes of the quarreling will be addressed AND resolved. I hope I helped; have a great day!
At least then, there will be peace in the Middle East. In about a billion years, though, the habitable zone will move past Earth, so there's an earlier end to the issue. All in finite time!
Peace could happen sooner than that, but it will require two extremely stiff-necked people to moderate their maximalist claims. A massive, thermo-nuclear war in the region would do it too, and maybe sooner.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
