Storically I loose weight durring the holidays I have had a life long weight problem, but am happy to say that I kave kept a 70 lb weight loss of for 3 years. (longest time ever! ) Durring the holidays, I put myself on a much stricter diet than any other time of the year.

I know that there are temptations out there and so that's when I have to tell myself, "Judi, you are in weight LOSS mode now. " If I am keeping my calories under 1300 calories a day and exercising 2-4 times a week, then Christmas day and Thanksgiving day won't have such a negative effect on me. My husband has also lost weight so we make sure we exercise some environmental control in our home.

We just don't keep bad foods in our house. I could binge out on fruit so we go to the grocery store several times a week so I won't have to much fruit in the house at once. If I plan several low calorie days durring the holidays then I can afford the few high calorie days that come up.

I just have to pick and choose and not eat every time the opportunity presents itself. When we first started loosing weight we went to a party and I had an epiphany. I watched the people at the party and noticed that the heavy people were at the food table and the thin people were dancing.

I know it sound's obvious, but just because the food is there it doesn't mean you have to eat it! It was a revelation to me and I've been "dancing" ever since. Oh ya...it's a constant battle Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the Holidays...but they come too close together... We had company over Thanksgiving...so between the T'day feast, leftover night and the spaghetti and meatball dinner over the weekend...I acquired 2 pounds. I suppose 2 pounds isn't much, in the scope of things...but it had taken near starvation and a few months to get rid of them...and 'just like that' they're back. Now we're back on Healthy Choice until Christmas...boy, the older you get, the faster it goes on...and the slower it comes off.

There's no justice.

Not especially I honestly don't eat that much more during the holidays, and even if I did I suspect that wouldn't be the main reason for disliking them. What I will be happy about is when all this travel and dealing with family is over.

While I do love the holidays I do find it very hard to keep my weight under control, so yes in that regard. I started weight watchers in April and lost 50 lbs. Between April and late October, but once the Halloween candy started coming into the house it has been one thing after another and I am putting weight back on.

I need to be better now, but it will be easier once the holidays are over! .

Yes Yes. However, I try to watch how much I eat during the holidays even when I say that I am going to splurge most of the time during the holidays. The problem with the holidays is that there are so many goodies sitting in front of your face.

Self control is the key, along with allowing yourself to have what you want from time to time so that way you don't end up destroying the way you eat in the long wrong.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
