Would Bush be on his way to prison if not for the retroactive-immunity clause in the FISA bill Obama supported?

Eventually Bush will slip up and travel to a country where he will be arrested and tried for crimes against humanity.

Its a mute point. Holder will get at least 15 years. Expect Obama to face charges as well.

No. Bush would not be on his way to prison. What was going to happen was the phone companies (including AT&T) were going to get their asses sued off for violating the privacy of their customers. It was a major problem and the phone companies hired lobbyists to go bed congress to indemnify their illegal actions.

And you are correct, the Democrats screamed bloody murder about this when the Bush administration was doing it. Then when they are in control they quietly make it legal. But the issue wasn't Bush asking (he asked, didn't force) the phone companies to allow the Government to invade customer privacy.

It was the phone company going along with it and violating the contract we had with them not to do just that which made it a civil issue. Money speaks.. this was going to be a major issue. The Democrats made sure it never happened though.

I hate to bust your bubble but just like Obama isn't going to prison because he hasn't done anything wrong even though those on the right would like to send him there, Bush isn't going to prison even though the left want to send there because neither one has done anything wrong.

FISA was actually passed by his predecessor, NOT Bush, and it was passed by the CONGRESS! That makes it law, if you think it's unconstitutional, take it to the Supreme Court, if THEY declare it so, then it will be vacated, but NOBODY is going to prison, pal! Otherwise "The One" would be in a prison!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
