Would future outbreaks of BSE (Mad Cow disease) completely inhibit you from eating beef, even if non-recalled beef supplies are labeled safe?

No, it wouldn't. I ate beef during the last scare and I turned out fine. I haven't gotten swine flu, bird flu, Ebola, West Nile Virus, or whatever they're telling us to worry about this time.

The problem with a lot of these things is that legitimate threats they may be, but a lot of it is panic that feeds on itself. If beef has been certified safe, in the light of an outbreak you can bet that that decision was NOT made lightly. Too many legal consequences.

More to the point, though, changing my eating habits (and I rarely eat beef anyway) over such a minuscule risk isn't worth it.

I don't really get into the whole "pandemic" thing. I'm not a worrier by nature. If it's labeled "safe," I'll eat it.

If it's not labeled, I'll trust in my store that they won't sell me tainted meat.

No, it wouldn't. I love hamburgers and roast beef and I'd be willing to take my chances. We all gotta go sometime.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
