I'm not a late night tv watcher. While I know both of them, I have rarely watched them. Both are just late night talk shows with off-humor comedy that maybe wouldn't be shown during the day time hours.
I know Howard Stern has been accusing Leno of stealing his material because one of the Stern's writers now works for Leno and has usurped some of their Stern's stuff. So really, if he can't be more original, perhaps one or the other needs to go so that the writing teams can be pooled and maybe get some good, original material. But since I don't watch them, I'm going to have to go with whoever brings in the most money for the network should stay.
The rumor mill has been active on this one. Everything from Leno being completely, out, to Conan being completely out, to Jay being on for 30 minutes at 11:35 and Conan being on at 12:05 for an hour. Obviously, something is afoot.
All of the possible scenarios which I have heard in the rumor mills seem to defy common sense, then again, it is NBC we are talking about. Seriously though, I believe that the Jay Leno show at 10 pm is definitely gone after the Winter Olympics. The Tonight show franchise would seem to me so embedded in TV history and pop culture that tinkering with its format would be a mistake.
Personally I hope Conan keeps it. Just as what happened when he took over from Letterman, he can fortify and make his own an established franchise.
While I am sure some enthusiasts of the show would be devastated to see it go off air, I have to say that personally I do not watch the show nor am I very familiar with its nature (or host for that matter). Therefore, the show going off the air would not significantly affect me personally. Surely there was a reason for switching the show out and letting Jay Leno get the slot originally intended for this show.
Maybe the viewer quotas were much lower than those for rivaling shows and it was not found feasible to continue Conan O’Brien’s show at this time. Or maybe it will just be moved to another time slot or day that appears more convenient for its viewers.
It would be a horrible decision to let O'Brien go off the air. He is so much funnier than Jay and he was set up for failure when they put a variety talk show right before him (JAY ITS TIME TO RETIRE! ).
Conan is awesome and if you haven't been watching, do yourself a favor and meet your new favorite late night host. Oh, and Andy Richter is hilarious too.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
