Forget the website heres what you need to know. Firearms come in two basic types. Long guns and Handguns.
Long guns are rifles, shotguns, muskets, pretty much as the name implies "Long guns" The key functional difference between them and hand guns is the distance at which they are accurate. Typically the long gun is used up to many hundreds of yards (100-600), hand guns less than 50 yards. Long guns may have: Fully Automatic action : Fires continuously as long as you keep the trigger depressed.
Semi automatic action : Fires once per tigger pull. Reloads the next shot on its own. Bolt action : Fires once per trigger pull, then you manually lift a handle and discharge the cartridge and reload another.
You have seen it on TV no doubt, when somebody pulls the handle back and puts it forward again then shoots. Lever action : Think cowboy style, when the handle gets moved down and forward to load the next shot. Hand guns typically have Semiautomatic action : Fires once, reloads itself (also properly called a pistol) Revolver : A Cylinder rotates moving the next cartridge into firing position.
Properly called a revolver. (the cowboy 6 shooter is a revolver) There are exceptions like single shot target pistols and certain other specialized weapons but they are uncommon.
Go on Youtube, look up, "Lock n Load, R Lee Ermey." Great show and all the episodes can be viewed online. He'll love it.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
