I'd pay my electric utility bill and help clean up after the church youth group event in the hopes there were leftovers going to waste...

Btw, on the subject of Chicago pizza, as some of you know, I live in the NYC Metro area, but am very partial to Chicago pizza--so much so that I have actually flown via Chicago for it in the past. There is the standard Chicago deep dish pizza. And, there is the Chicago stuffed pizza, which used to be a real favorite of mine.

The large pie at a top rated Chicagoland pizzeria weighed 10 lbs. Back then, my metabolism processed a stuffed pizza more efficiently. Today, sadly, those lbs go right to my midriff.

Good NYC pizza is excellent. Thin crust pizza can be outstanding. We have it homemade every week.

But, Chicago pizza is the best in the country, to my taste. Be careful to judge Chicago pizza from the products sold at contemporary Chicago style franchises. It just isn't the same.

Before some of these classic Chicago restaurants succeeded and expanded into large franchises, they were excellent purveyors of pizza in Chicago: Uno's and Due's on the Near North, Giordano's originally on the South Side, and Nancy's which I visited up North. Today, I suspect the quality has changed. I would be interested in the opinions of Chicago natives who know where to get the most authentic deep dish and stuffed pizzas today.

The question does not contain enough information, such as: how soon more money would be coming in, how much food is in the house, and whether the lights are about to be turned off because of non-payment. With nothing else to go on, I'd say that if my financial circumstances were so dire that I could not afford both, I certainly would not blow the last of my money on something so frivolous as a pizza. If this is some sort of hypothetical, values related question, I suppose some might say one should attend to the needs of the church before one's own needs, trusting that "God will provide".

But what of the moral principle of attending to one's obligations? The electricity has been used and the user owes for it. Not to pay money owed is essentially stealing.

I don't think such an action is somehow morally justified simply because the stolen money would be going to the church. If I were God, and one of my followers did such a thing, I'd let them suffer. Finally, how could I be sure the pizza would be delicious if it was made by a group of underage amateur chefs?

.

If my electric bill were on my mind I would get some low cost flourescent bulbs and get an energy audit - if that can be done without charge. Electric bills can be managed. So can church contributions.

But a good budget takes care of everything.

"My idea is from my personal history. Way before. As a child we lived in Fresno, California and our across the streeet neighbors were Italian.

They shared pizza. My mother wanted to make pizza. But all she knew how to make was bread and hot rolls.

So we got hot rolls with toppings. Really good hot rolls, but not thin crust pizza. Many have had the same history and we like a thicker pizza.

Like they make in Chicago. It was an independent development which people got used to.

I would most definitely choose the utility bill. And If I had a craving for pizza I'd visit friends in NYC.

2) My light bill comes first, and I wouldn't be involved with anyone in a church youth group.

I would pay my light bill. There is a biblical passage that says, Charity beginneth at home and spreadeth abroad. If you don't take care of you, you will be the person that same youth group will need to help in the future.

And that is a really low light bill, I want that house. Or is it the pizza is really, really expensive? .

It would all depend. Is it real, Chicago-style pizza, the best in the country, or just some dreck the kids put together using store-bought crusts and so on? If its real Chicago-style pizza, I might be tempted to let the utility bill go a few days.....

Where do I get top dollar for my gold in Chicago , IL.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
