Are you using . NET 3.0, or . NET 3.5 on Windows XP SP2?
If so, this is a known problem with the transparent window API that has been fixed in . NET 3.5 and SP3 of XP (and I think SP1 of Vista). Basically when you set the AllowsTransparency to True, the WPF pipeline has to render in software only mode.
This will cause a significant degradation in performance on most systems.
I think that I've finally found a workaround. From everything I've read this problem should not be occurring with XP SP3 & . NET 3.5 SP1, but it is.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
