You are invited to attend the birthday party of a 35-year old man. What would you give him as a present?

If you know his interests that would facilitate the gift selection process. For a 35 year old you could give him single malt scotch, cuff links, box of cigars or a brief case as stand bys if he were to have traditional or conservative tastes. If his tastes are not so traditional, or you don't what they are, a gist card for an electronics store will do nicely. It will be a tad bit less personal, but I am certain he will put it to good use.

Depends on what he likes, your relationship with him, and how much you're willing to pay. Watches can be expensive, I think I would go for pocket knife, or even a book if I want to go lower. Gift cards feel very impersonal to me, so I will give it only to mere acquaintances like co-workers.

Wine is also a good choice, if he likes wine.

I would buy a gift card to a store I know they like. Actually, a greeting card with cash in it would be something I'd consider as well. Unimaginative?Yes.

However, as I see it, cash is guaranteed to be appreciated.

This is a good question, and is certainly a conundrum. He's 35, so, chances are, he probably has all necessities and even everything that caters to his hobbies. This is why he's so difficult to get a birthday gift for.

If you don't want to make that much of an impression and be very thoughtful, you can always get away with the standard guy gifts: engraved pocket knife, watch, liquor flask (if he drinks), or some silly novelty gift (there are so many of these, I can't even begin to list them). If you know him a bit better and want to get something thoughtful, get him something that addresses his personality, talents, or hobbies. If he's a reader, get him a hard cover book that he wouldn't think of buying for himself.Do some analysis and come up with a title you know he'll love.

If he's a gamer (there are many 30 something gamers), buy him a video game or two that fits the type of games he likes. If he enjoys golf, get him a golf scope or golf watch. If he's super in to a hobby and the hobby is relatively inaccessible to a layman, do not purchase anything that caters to that hobby.

For example, do not get him a telescope if he enjoys astronomy (these purchases are considerably complicated). Gift Cards are a good idea if you're positive he shops at that particular store. Most men would be able to find something at Dick's Sporting Goods or Best Buy.

If he likes to go out to eat, get him a gift card to his favorite restaurant. Don't buy him a gift card for Target or Wal Mart, that's a little too general and shows you don't know him at all. Creative: If he has kids, buy him a gift certificate to a drop in day care center to he can have a date night with his wife.

Better: make him a coupon to say that you will watch the kids for him whenever her wishes so he can have a date night. Although such an idea seems cheap, you're probably saving him at least $50 in babysitting fees, especially if he goes out late. Whatever you pick, don't worry, he'll probably like it and will just be glad that you remembered his birthday.

I agree that it would be a difficult decision since we really don't know what his relationship is to the giver. Since it is a party, I am going to say that we are just friends-no romantic involvement. If I knew what stores he liked, a gift card would always be appreciative.

If you know him well enough cash, but I like the fit card idea better. :-).

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
