You have brown eyes your wife has hazel yet your daughter 18 mns has blue how is this possible?

Answer recessive genes. The gene for brown eyes and curly, dark hair are dominate, but blue eyes and straight light hair can pop up two or three generations later Answer both my parents have brown eye but both my grandpa's have blue eye. I have blue eyes.

Something to do with recessive and dominant genes Answer Both of the above answers mention Recessive Genes but do not really explain how they work so I will try to explain. Every gene in the body has a copy from each parent called Alleles. Each gene may be one of two forms (like brown or blue eyes).

The reccessive allele is given a lowercase letter and the dominant allele is given the uppercase letter. So BB means both alleles are for brown eyes, bb means both alleles are for blue eyes and finally Bb means there is one allele of each. For a recessive trait to appear both the alleles must be for this trait but if any of the alleles are for the dominant genes then the dominant trait will show.So for if you wife has blue eyes her alleles are bb but you might have BB or Bb.

If your child has blue eyes then you must be Bb. Each parent passes only one of there alleles onto the child so your wife will have to pass on one of her be alleles. For the child to be blue eyed it must have received your be allele not you B allele to make it bb and thus have blue eyes.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
