No it's not too early! :D Because these days the sensitive tests can detect it 5 days before the expected period date! I was totally impatient, so I bought the test (clearblue digital) and tested 4 days before my period was due and I got a positive :) It was our first month trying too, and I was totally curious.. and completely had my hopes up.... even though I had absolutely no symptoms :p As for the bleeding, I have no idea, it could be implantation bleeding which I never got.
I only bled a little bit of brown pink blood at around 5 weeks of my pregnancy which completely freaked me out, but it turns out it was nothing serious, and the midwife said it was because it was the time I would have had my period, had I not been pregnant, so the body gets confused... but all is well now :) I think you can take some medication that regulates your period but it seems to me that your period is regular, just a longer cycle.. so shouldn't have any problems.. but then I can't help you there cus I don't know anything about those medications. You could always buy an ovulation tester thing :) Lots of baby dust to you, and good luck!
