A Dell Optiplex 320 was just shipped in for my work. Is it ok if I lay it on its side and set the monitor on top of it? Asked by lakedaemon 56 months ago Similar questions: Dell Optiplex 320 shipped work lay side set monitor top Computers > Hardware > Desktops & Laptops.

Shouldn't be a problem I've done this in the past, not with that particular box, but none of the inner workings should be affected. It will be a pain, though, to deal with CDs/DVDs. The drives all have these little clips that you pull out to hold the disc in place while you insert/remove it, but it's not as convenient as just inserting the disc flat.My only two concerns would be that you make sure the the mother board ends up on the bottom and that you make sure the case is sturdy enough to support your monitor.
If you have a heavy CRT monitor compared to a lightweight LCD and the case is kind of cheap and weak (my latest Dell is a couple of years old and I find the plastic to not seem as sturdy as older PCs), then I'd be afraid of cracking the case. If the motherboard were supported by that side I can imagine some problems if it cracked, but I think they'd be unlikely. So bottom line, it wasn't designed to be placed on its side, but it shouldn't be a problem. Good luck!

Yep I assume you got a mini-tower chassis. Unless you have a huge CRT monitor, go for it. It won´t hurt it.
Hope that helps, ~ms .
1 You could ask them - I don't see any problems, but the warranty may be in question.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
