A friend of mine wants to take parenting classes but has no children, is not in a relationship and is not sexually activ e. Is this weird? She isnt even planning on having any children any time soon as far as I know.

I think it is a great idea. Sometimes a person can be very nurturing and decide to go into the childcare business. I'm for all the classes people decide to take to improve themselves.

Even if a class is attended for pure curiosity.

Maybe she wants to be a nanny, a counselor to children or other children, be a big sister to a kid ... and she want to learn more about the skills to use them to meet another goal. Have you ask her why she is taking these classes now. Support her, don't be judgmental.

If nothing else, it certainly won't hurt.

She might want to just have knowledge on how to interact with children, maybe she has plans to be a nanny. There's nothing wrong with getting education in other areas in life. It's good she's doing this, there are alot of parents that don't have a clue on how to be a parent, either because their into thereselves or they didn't have a very good upbringing.So, one day when she does become a parent, she won't feel like she don't know what she's doing.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
