A friend wants to buy a Toyota Aygo. From the description and the commercials, it looks really nice. But due to the recall?

According to toyotarecall.org Toyota Aygo is not on the list. The models involved in the recall are: --QUOTE-- 2007 to 2010 MY (model year) Camry, 2005 to 2010 MY Avalon, 2004 to 2009 MY Prius, 2005 to 2010 MY Tacoma, 2007 to 2010 MY Tundra, 2007 to 2010 MY ES350, 2006 to 2010 MY IS250, and 2006 to 2010 MY IS 350. --END QUOTE- Something similar happened 2 years ago with Nissan Navarra when a major recall was made because the airbags had a delay in deployment and there were some problems with the seatbelts.

I own a Nissan Navarra and the problem was fixed, so I don’t see why your friend should avoid buying a Toyota Aygo since the problem can be fixed. But as I said the car is not on the recall list. Now, for the second part of your question, the price depends on the specs you are looking for: As far as I see on their official website the only Toyota Aygo engine is 1.0 VVT-i Petrol, but the price can go up and down based on the bodystyle, color and features.

Regardless of the recall, I wouldn't call the car a death trap. I still like Toyota as a company and I think they make great cars. The media has over-hyped this quite a bit in my opinion.

Toyota knows what they're doing when it comes to making smaller vehicles. I don't think the Aygo a particularly great choice purely because I don't feel especially safe in smaller cars. However, compared to other smaller cars it's pretty good.

Certain versions even come with ABS and side airbags. While curtain airbags and other things like a blind spot warning system would be nice, it's very well equipped for a smaller vehicle. I'd recommend stepping up to a much larger vehicle.

However, it's a lot more expensive and gas mileage goes out the window. For a small vehicle that competes with other models like the Honda Fit though, I think the Toyota Aygo is a pretty good choice.

According to the Toyota UK website the Toyota Aygo MMT was subject to the recall. Cars affected were manufactured in the period February, 2005 – August, 2009. Cars recalled were supplied in Europe.

I think you have every reason to be concerned. I am not sure which country you and your friend are living in, but I do understand the recall of the Toyota Aygo MMT was restricted to Europe only. blog.toyota.co.uk/pedal-recall-your-freq... The good news is that if your friend was to buy the car then A) He should verify with his local Toyota dealer if the car is subject to recall or not B) Is subject to recall your friend should get the car booked into a Toyota dealership before purchasing it Rectification of the recall problem is very straightforward and 100% reliable.

I would recommend if this is required that your friend goes to a Toyota dealership and is not tempted to take the car anywhere else. Therefore I would not worry too much provided your friend gets the rectification work required done.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
