According to US Debt Clock, every tax payer in America has a debt of about $127,000. Are you prepared to pay that debt?

Nope......haven't been able to find a job for five+ years. You can tax the hell out of me, but if a willing and able person can not find a job anywhere (and yes, I do believe my age of 61 makes a difference) what's the point? I'm a burden on the system, not a contributor, alas.

After working all my life from fourteen on, and serving my country in the military I feel like I have been tossed aside like garbage. So now, I'm chillin', and waiting for the SS to kick in. Doubt the withholding on that will meet the $127,000 but I hope I should live so long.

None of us is prepared to pay that debt. The debt is $45,068 per citizen and $127,009 per tax payer. If you look at the largest budget items you can see the largest are Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and the military.

All 110,682,232 U.S. Taxpayers would have to pay their share all at the same time in order for it to do any good. And, you know as well as I that all the taxpayers won't pay at the same time. This is such a complicated problem, it will take a super effort by Congress and the American People to control this..

Nope. And no one so gonig to try to collect that from me, either. Maggo - you are not a burden, to me.

Putting your life on the line to protect me and mine means I owe you a debt I can never repay.

Sure, just tack it on to everything else I owe. :)Kat .

And I second what TurboB wrote, maggo. You are not a burden; you paid in as long as you could, and the US owes you a debt we can never repay, for defending our country! I am sorry that you have been treated so badly; it's not right, but I know it happens a lot.

And you are worth tons to us here at Askville! :) I'll be happy to pay your tax bill, as soon as I get mine paid off, how about that? Hugs,Kat .

Nope. I know I will, but prepared? I only recently figured out urban harvesting of weeds as food.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
