Addresses on my Access Point are fixed and assigned to devices. I need to enter IP info but - what does "Router" want? I would have expected to enter the 'Gateway' IP somewhere on the Kindle settings page.

Kindle assumes the DNS server and the default route (gateway) are the same IP address. It's a bug in the Kindle firmware.

In order to get the Kindle to work with my network, I entered my gateway IP into the 'Router' field as a guess that it really meant 'gateway'. It is nothing like the DNS server IP. Works.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
