All our fish died--what's a good fish to get for a family fishbowl?

A good and easy to take care of fish to get is a goldfish. A goldfish can live long if you take good care of it. The longest goldfish lived to 44 years of age as shown in the documentary (in Japanese) below.

Goldfish can live 10 to 20 years if taken well care of, and the good part is that they are not too high maintenance, and they do not require salt water.

All your fish died... ... ... I will assume that your fish all expired one by one over a long period of time, If in fact I am incorrect and your fish died all at once... well maybe fish aren't the pet for you. SO! Since you are undoubtedly a great fish caretaker and this is a matter of opinion I will cast my vote for a devil fish.

This is the only fish I have seen that you can interact with on a regular basis. When I walk into my living room the fish will swim the length of the tank following me and when I approach the tank the fish will come to the glass and meet me eye to eye. You don't often see this behavior in a fish, it also follows my hand if I wave it in front of the tank like a dog would a ball.

I have a friend who also owns a devil fish and it has the same behavior, if your looking for a family fish you can all but pet, a devil fish seems like good choice. As far as beta fish, I was going to buy one from my local fish store and the salesperson warned me that if I had other fish the beta fish, pretty as it is, wouldn't interact well with other fish in the same tank. Also be aware when buying a fish that many different fish require different habitats as to salt or fresh water and even water temp in the tank.My red devil fish is a fresh water fish so you don't have to worry about mixing the correct amount of salt in with your water.

We have had a betta fish since January '08. I think they make a great family fish!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
