Adobe InDesign might be what you need As you know, Adobe discontinued PageMaker. Adobe has made changes to InDesign CS3 to make it easier to use for PageMaker users. InDesign can open PageMaker documents from versions 6 and later.

Adobe InDesign CS3 would be the closest current product and runs on Vista. I don't believe PageMaker (the more recent Adobe version of the product) is made anymore. The next generation seems to be the Adobe InDesign product which is part of the new Creative Suite 3 (CS3).

They have upgrade options that begin at $199 -- although I'm not sure if that offer would extend as far back as the original Aldus PageMaker. 1 PageMaker was always Adobe's. Macromedia (FreeHand) bought Aldus, then Adobe bought Aldus. Adobe now owns every major graphics product except Quark.

InDesign is the way to go if you are an industry pro. For home/amateur use, the price and learning curve may be prohibitive. In that case, Word is well-suited to your use if you're printing to your home printer but NOT if you're taking the files to a prepress house for four-color/spot-color output.

Adobe products are cross-platform (Windows/Mac).

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
