And what are superpowers & the coins?.. I think my coins are being deducted. Asked by o0_barby 55 months ago Similar questions: superpowers coins deducted Amazon > Askville.
", your answer of "Tomrrow Maybe- Brian James" was rated as "Weak" by your fellow answerers and/or the question asker. I don't know the mind of these people, but my speculation is that they gave you that rating because you only gave a title, and didn't even attempt to answer the more important part of the question ("why"). When an answer you give is rated "Weak", you lose 5 quest coins (and 5 experience points in each of the topics the question asker gave the question), and if you should happen to get an answer rated "awful", you lose 10 quest coins (and 10 experience points per topic).
Now, looking at the answers that other people gave, it appear that the answer that was rated "Great" (and received the "Best Answer" ribbon) didn't really answer the "why" part either, while three other answers that were only rated "Good" did give reasons why those were their favorite books. So the ratings don't always average out to what you might expect. I hope you are not put off of using Askville by this experience.
I was rated "Weak" a couple of times myself early on, but these helped me to learn more about what was expected from an answer, and taught me that I need to read the questions carefully so I know everything the asker is looking for. So my advice would be for you to look at other people's answers that were rated "Good" or "Great" on various questions, and try to see what it was about them that made them such highly-rated answers..
Superpowers oO_barby, I just looked at your settings and you don't have superpowers--superpowers are special tools that you purchase from Askville which when used allow you to vote in special ways or to earn extra coins. If you look on your My Askville page, in the upper right corner, it tells you how many coins you have and if you have any superpowers, and I'm not seeing any there, so that tells me you haven't purchased any. To verify if coins are being deducted, go to My Askville, then click on My then details.
You will see every transaction that you have done in Askville. The only time coins are deducted is if you buy a superpower or if you answer questions not so well and they are deducted for "weak" votes. From you answers that you given, I don't think you would have lost any points.
Oh--the coins--they are just kind of a points/scoring system. Eventually we are told that they will be worth something, but no one has told us what yet. We just have to be patient!
There are three ways to find out more about Askville. One is just what you've done--ask here! Questions are always welcome!
Two is to look at the Askville FAQ, which is down at the bottom of every page. Three is the Askville Blog, which is in the upper left corner of the main page. Oh--if all else fails, you can also ask the Askville people themselves by clicking on the Feedback button down at the bottom of every page..

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
