This is a fantastic idea! I think it will really challenge people to think out of the box and research topics they would not normally Q&A.

The Guru Team is alot of fun! I personally like the flexibility of being able to work WHENEVER I want!

I agree with @ginamichellesattic. The guru team is a great place to be. The flexibilty allows you to be able to do your work whenever you like, so you can easily schedule it around your other writing obligations or your offline job.

True! This is the best place to be! You work when you want, we have a funny chat-room on IRC ( #guruteam), the best guide ever (@coreymac) and the best supervisor (@cosmopinkice)!

When you get the BA, you get the tip and the revshare! When you ask a question you also get the revshare! For both, you are paid....What else do you want?

Hooray for Guru! It not only is a great opportunity to get out some amazing questions and answers but it's also a great opportunity to learn from research, from peers and to get to know fellow community members! We're definitely a tight bunch, and everyone is super friendly, and helpful.

I recommend everyone to at least give it a shot, if it's not for you, then at least you tried right? My heart is with Guru! It's a great thing!

I can honestly say that this has been a great experience. I believe I've learned more in the past few months than I did in college. Really!

Aside from the flexibility of time, you are given the chance to share ideas, thoughts, and be able to impart them to the Mahalo community. Answering and asking questions has never been fun and you will get paid too!.. You will also receive feedbacks so that you will be able to know how you are doing when it comes to quality of your answers and questions. So...what are you waiting for?

I just wanted to say that the Guru team is awesome, and anyone that gets on the team will have a lot of fun with this group. I will not be applying for this new round since being a part time Guide is already filling up my free time, and part of being a Guide includes some Q&A work anyways. There are some great Mahaloians on this thread who are applying, so it will rock if you all get in.As Corey says, huzzah!

I didn't realise at first, but from the sounds of the other answers/comments, are the 20 questions and 100 answers restricted only to the child sites and not questions made on the main website?

Have someone or a team at Mahalo just periodically go through each user's questions and answers, and when they judge that 20 questions and 100 answers meeting Mahalo guidelines have been completed, a "surprise gift" is given to the user. That would work better for me. The proposed system seems to have an element of coercion in it, in that a portion of topics would be "assigned.

" Also, I like the element of surprise! The feature of giving someone a "vacation" when their work does not meet standard, also strikes me as less than satisfactory. This suggestion does not preempt the proposed "guru" system, but could work in parallel.

Users could also get a behind the scenes "grade" for their answers, so they know how they are doing along the way, and suggestions for improvement. Duenhsiyen.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
