Any film editors out there? Does anyone know how to get Final Cut Pro 6 to recognize a Sony HD700E clamshell miniDV deck? Help?

I can't actually answer your question since I use adobe premiere pro. But premiere works fine for any DV I have connected thru the firewire port. I can only hazard a guess that it might be a codec problem.

Go to this site videohelp.com and do a few searches. If nothing comes up then ask this same question there and i'm sure someone will have an answer for you before long.

Connect the Deck to the Mac via Firewire. Ensure the Deck does not have Analog - DV set to ON Make sure the Mac 'sees' the deck - Apple System Profiler. Click the Apple logo in the menu bar.

Select 'About this Mac'. Press More Info. In this window select Firewire and check if the mac can 'see' the deck.

If it can, then start FCP (quit and restart FCP if its already running) Select Easy setup as DV-PAL FCP should be able to capture now. Note Since your deck is 700E, I've assumed it to be PAL. Else select DV-NTSC in place of DV-PAL above.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
