Lots of great things to do, see, eat with your family on Maui. West Maui, West Maui is the Leeward side of the island, meaning it is in the lee of the west maui mountains. This side of the island has incredible sunny and warm weather, with little wind.

Aloha Mixed Plate has the local ethnic food down, and ocean views. For the best burgers check out Cool Cat Cafe. Snorkeling and restaurants and shopping at the resort area in Kaanapali beach.
South Maui South maui has great beaches, lots of restaurants to choose from and is conveniently located to access lots of areas of maui. There are a lot of accomodations to choose from for South Maui. Beaches of interest here are Makena also known as big beach.
Makena is breathtaking, however the water here can be dangerous. Stand up paddleboarding is huge, you can rent boards and take them down to the beaches. Wailea, the luxury visitor area of south maui has designer shopping and restaurants.
South maui has an excellent park for kids to play at, and the beach parks Kamaole I, II, and III. South facing shores of the island enjoy sunny warm weather, but it can get windy at times. Kihei has lots of restaurants, some great ones to take the family is Stella Blues, famous for their mac nut pancakes, Central Maui The airport is located in central maui, in Kahului.
The county seat of wailuku is nearby, semi urban looking, the tallest buildings go to around 8 stories. The park called Kepanawai park in Iao Valley is a fantastic place to take the family. There is moderate to easy hiking, a hawaiian garden, the hawaii nature center, and the main river tributaries from West Maui flow out here.
Breathtaking sceneries up here with easy access. Upcountry and East Maui Haleakala Haleakala National Park is a popular place to take the family. It involves a drive to the summit of Haleakala, usually about 2 to 3 hours drive from whereever you are on the island.
You can also hike into the crater or even rent cabins and stay inside the crater. This is a moderate to advanced hiking. Makawao & Paia & beyond Two towns on Baldwin Avenue.As you leave Kahului and start driving out towards the country on Hana ghway you will encounter Paia.
Baldwin beach park is right before the town of Paia. Paia is chock full of great restaurants. Paia Fish Market is the best for fish sandwiches, Mana Foods, health food store and deli, Cafe des Amis for crepes, it goes on.
East Maui Haiku and Hana are the rainforest side of the island. There are lots of unchartered territory to hike, waterfalls on the sides of the roads, long stretches of country. Hana has camping in Wainapanapa and Kipahulu.
