Had a similar issue where our washer stopped spinning and there was a noticeably loud whirring sound. The problem was that one of the belts on the washer was broken. If you take the front of your washer off, grab a flashlight and shine it in there, it will be pretty easy to see if the belt is broken.
There really isn't a ton that can go wrong with a washing machine mechanically, so there is a good chance this is the problem. If you do confirm that this is the problem, I'm not 100% sure whether I think this is a DIY kind of job. The repairman who fixed mine had to remove a couple of other belts in order to put on the new replacement belt.
On top of that, it seemed like he had a fairly hard time figuring out which belt was the right belt for my machine. I'm pretty handy and at the end of the whole process I still wasn't completely sure if I would have wanted to go after this myself (even to save the $100 it cost me). Still, open up the front of your machine and take a look - that should at least help you figure out if the belt is the problem and you can take it from there.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
