Anyone have an opinion about the best way to shoot high-quality macro video on an HD camera with a fixed lens?

You know, in the old days, most Super 8mm cameras only had a fixed lens and people shot lots of movies with them. And in Hollywood, they never use zoom lenses. The only use fixed lenses (although they usually have several to choose from when shooting a movie or TV show).

So with that in mind, my opinion would be to get as close as possible to the subject you're shooting! .

3 That's what I've done in the past get really close. But my latest camera doesn't focus as tight & I need to capture some true macro images for this project--insects. Strangely, there doesn't seem to be a lot of information out there about macro video.

There are a couple of possibilities that I can think of. I can add an auxiliary lens, or use a 35mm adapter with a real macro lens. I was hoping for opinions on these & any other options short of the obvious "get closer" from people who have actually tried them.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
