You did not say girl or boy but your best bet is a gift card if you do not know this child. Target, Jamba Juice, Starbucks, Movie theater tickets, game stores or other stores in a local mall are great.
A cell phone. A digital camera. A computer/PC/Laptop.IPod.
Cell phones are actually good, and with parental controls it limits what they can and can't do. Digital Camera ehh, if they take care of their stuff, but I still wouldn't buy a really pricey one. Find out what they are into, most kids that age are into video and computer games, art, manga and anime are huge.
Skateboarding and skating are popular as well. I have an 11 year old so that pretty much covers most of what he is into, oh and he is into Dungeons and Dragons also. Check with the mom and find out what interests the kid.
Or suggestions she might have. If you can't find something you'd like to get them, get them a gift card (kids actually really do like them) to Best Buy, Borders, Gamestop, Micheals, or wherever sells things they are into.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
