Whether you're preparing food for you own housewarming party or bringing something to someone else's place, platters are always a safe way to go. You could do a fruit platter, vegetable platter, a large plate of different cheeses and more! Also, if you don't feel like cutting everything up yourself, grocery stores often sell them pre-made (though they're a little more pricey).
Even chips and dip can work as long as you get some of the more interesting/gourmet chips (like whole wheat corn chips) with a strange or exotically named dip. Have fun!
If you're having a housewarming party I would say that each person should bring a side/ snack dish with them and you provide more of a main course item, like kabobs. Filling, but a lot of small pieces, so they go a far distance for a low cost. Mini franks or slices of sausages, rolled up lunch meat, or cubed ham, with cubed cheese.
Pretty much anything with a toothpick.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
