Are Jehovah's Witnesses a brainwashed cult?

The Watchtower Society is a cult because it promotes itself as the sole "true" church, and further proclaims that membership in the organization is required for salvation. It also presents a false Christ -- presenting Christ as "Michael the archangel." It also calls Jesus a liar by proclaiming there is no hell when He clearly said there IS a hell.

Any organization that has its own Bible and will not allow its members to use any other translation sends up an immediate red flag. The leaders are false prophets, having proclaimed that the end of the world would come in 1914. When this didn't happen, they changed the date (saying there is no "year 0") to 1915, then to other dates -- then changed the definition of the prophecy to say it meant something else.

(A quote: "Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews 11, to the condition of human perfection," (Millions Now Living Will Never Die, p. 89, 1918)." The Bible says (Deuteronomy 18:22) that anyone who claims to be a man of God who makes ONE false prophecy is a false prophet, has spoken presumptuously, and is NOT to be listened to, period.

The Watchtower Society's prophecies are ALL false and have NEVER come to pass.

There are some religions out there that actually are cults,I do not believe that Jehovah's Witnesses are one of them. Before people assume that a religion is a cult they should research about it first. I have read some of those magazines that the Jehovah's Witnesses give out when they go door to door like the The Watchtower,and Awake!

Nothing in those magazines make me think that they are a cult. I actually agree with some of their teachings.

You sound materialistic, yes, but most of us struggle with this. Surely a Noble Prize is a better sign of someone who has made their mark on the world?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
