No, they are not the same at all. In fact, a couple of your answerers incorrectly inferred that the founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses was familiar with Seventh-day Adventist teachings. This is not so.

They also inferred that William Miller was a Seventh-day Adventist, too. This is also not so. William Miller was a Baptist lay person whose following became known as the Millerites.

They were "adventists" (believing in the Second Coming of Christ); but, not Seventh-day Adventists. He misinterpreted Daniel 8:14 to mean that Jesus Christ was returning to cleanse the earth -- first in the fall of 1843 and, then -- in the fall of 1844. (The difference between these two dates was the realization that there was no year zero between BC and AD.) The fall was specified because the fulfillment of verse 25, from the Seventy Weeks prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27, took place in the fall of 457BC when Ezra actually reached the ruins of Jerusalem, read the decree to those there, and the rebuilding actually commenced (Ezra 7).

The reference to evenings/mornings, in the original language of Daniel 8:14, caused the Day of Atonement (Lev. 23:26-32), October 22, 1844, to be picked as the actual day for this event. Part of the Millerites was also Ellen Gould Harmon, a Methodist, and she experienced the Great Disappointment when Jesus Christ didn't return on that day.

It was only later, she said that God told her the day (October 22, 1844) and the event (the cleansing of the sanctuary) were correct, but that the understanding of what that meant was incorrect. So, a group of men (James White, Joseph Bates, J.N.Andrews, and maybe one or two others) began to meet in sincere Bible study to determine God's Truth. Out of that study, the Seventh-day Adventist Church was finally founded in 1863.

Completely separate from that growing movement, Charles Taze Russell formed a Bible-study group called the Bible Student Movement in 1869 after coming into contact with other "adventists" (Jonas Wendell, George Storrs, and George Stetson) who had come out of the Great Disappointment. It is important, though, NOT to confuse the generic term "adventist" with the specific term "Seventh-day Adventist." The doctrines are very different.

Charles Taze Russell went on to formalize the group in 1876, which later became the Zion's Watch Tower Tract Society, in 1881, and was finally renamed the Jehovah's Witnesses in 1931. God bless.

Well now their are some gr8 answers here about the differences between 7th DAY ADVENTISTS an Jehovah witnesses,, now concerning the Sabbath being of moses this doctrine is not correct though , The 7th day sabbath was instituted at creation the same as marriage . These 2 are the same that Satan hates the most for it originated at the creation of man, . WHY Is it stated Remember?

The sabbath day to keep it holy if it was not known before?. Why is it also the only commandment that seems to be forgotten by Gods creatures and instead follow another day which was never commanded in scripture?. If the law was don away with as SO many fine upstanding citizens of heaven seem to think then why is it still a sin to steal ,kill ,commit adultery have other gods and to worship idols but no longer sin to not worship as God commanded?.

What would be the point in CHRIST coming to this earth and dying for mankind if their is no longer to be a law that points out what sin is? / How could judgement take place if their is no law which states just what is sin then? The law on;y shows you where we fall short at .

It can not save you no more than a mirror that points out dirt on your face can clean you up it takes soap and water to do this yes?. THE law points our need for a Savior for to cleanse us of our sins by giving us a desire to walk in his pure life and asking for pardon when we fail. I do not know about you but I know without a law to point out sin how would I know what sin is and ask for help not to do what is wrong in my creators sight?.

HAVE you ever gotten out of bed at night and stubbed your toe? The Law is a light unto our path that directs our feet so we do not stumble and hurt our self or others! , if I be going down the highway at the correct speed I have no fear of the consequences of disobeying the speed limit now do I?

Well brethren when we walk according to the Spirit we do not have to fear Gods judgement either for we will be in harmony with his righteous Law and His character will be refined in us as well .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
