I don't think its a matter of total madness or greed. The majority of workers realise they have to take cut to their living standard (doesn't mean they have to enjoy it) and after all it was the bankers and the government and the irresponsible people who borrowed more than they should of which caused the debt bubble in the first place. However people in the public sector are and should fight because it is the only way to work out where the real fat is and cut it away.
Finally in a choice between cutting social welfare and the supportive part of the public sector (aka parts that support the private sector like schools, libraries, social services, Police etc are always more important than benefits as they help to refine the private parts of the economy. The biggest cost in this country is welfare £200 billion worth about 30% of all spending!
Servile wretches like you turn my stomach. What will put the country to rights would be a bloody revolution, where the idle rich, the modern day robber barons and servile wretches are carted to a place of execution and decapitated. Dear servile wretch, Just to let you know that I have been gainfully employed for over 30 years in the private sector, but it doesn't stop me knowing right from wrong or indeed knowing a servile wretch when it rears it's cowardly head.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
