Are shaving razors allowed in carry on luggage?

Its better to have a safety razor than straight razors. If possible avoid taking any of such things as the place you are going for may already have barbers where you can go for shaving, even if you are not a frequent visitor to the barber shop you may avail that razor over there. Anywhich ways if you have decided that you need to have one keep it carefully in your bags, by covering it well in a plastic or some other kits.
