I am a Democrat and I will vote for him, Santorum, Gingrich, Perry, Bachman, Paul or whoever else the Republicans may nominate.
Even as someone left-leaning, I don't think I would be too upset if he won the election. Like Obama, he would probably govern pretty much in the middle. He also seems like a political realist that wouldn't try to slash-and-burn government services.
And the fact that he's done more for universal healthcare than almost anyone else in America in the last 30 years is a plus in my book. In a way, I think Republicans might have an easier time establishing universal healthcare than the Democrats. If Democrats do it, people scream "They are socialist commies I knew it!".
If Republicans do it, people say, "Well if they are pushing for it, maybe it really is time for it, because you know they wouldn't want it otherwise.
