Astrology vs. Astronomy.. Questions?

While astronomy developed from astrology astronomy is based on facts. As an example there are 13 constellations in the zodiac not 12. The sun doesn't spend an equal amount of time in each zodiac constellation; the sun clears Scorpio in 8 days.

In addition astrology doesn't take into account the precession of the equinoxes so while the horoscope page says that you are an Aries the sun is actually in a different constellation like Pisces or Taurus. Since horoscopes are based on the vernal equinox the sun spends about 2000 years in each of the zodiac constellations. The sun is now leaving Pisces and entering Aquarius where it will remain for the next 2000 years.

Astrologers claim that each sign has specific characteristics for people and that some signs are more compatible with each other than with others. If you check the statistics there is no significant difference between divorces of people who are supposedly incompatible compared to those whose signs are compatible. In addition how would the other planets in the solar system determine our basic personality?

These planets are too far away to have any effect on us. While astrology is interesting I would not let my life be run by what the horoscope says.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
