1) I heard that they prefer East Asians. (Japanese, Korean, Chinese) I'm Chinese but born in South-East Asia. Will this affect my chances negatively?
No, they prefer Koreans and Chinese (mostly) :) 2) Is there a standard for Beauty, Height and Weight (girls) at the company? (Example: Face Shape, Eyes, Nose) And would it be weird or okay if someone looked like a mix of Chinese, Korean, American & Australian? For girls, maybe a bmi of 17~18 maybe 19 ish.
Ideal height range would be in the 160's and weight of 40's. They prefer pointed/ v shaped face (does that make sense?) for more of an elegant look, or a rounder face for a cuter and purer look. And to be honest, they don't normally like sorta boxy shaped faces.
3) I went on YouTube & all auditionees seem to be singing Korean songs in their audition. Since Eng is my 1st language, are Eng songs allowed to be sung at the auditions too? & how long does one have to sing for?
(Example: 50 sec, 1 min) From what I've heard of, English songs are allowed in auditions, but Korean is more favourable. I think it would be cool if a non-Korean could sing really well in Korean. Maybe it would surprise the judges :) For the video length, I think 1 to 2 minute is okay.
4) Will the judges judge by 1 talent or 2? For example let's say 1 is amazing in Singing but terrible in Dancing. And another one is equally good in Singing & Dancing.
If you're doing it by email, I think you only need to send one video of a sort. But if you're doing it at the public auditions, I think it is a good idea to prepare for both singing and dancing as they might ask you to do them. 5) Do looks matter more than talent to them?
It seems that auditionees on YouTube have strong talent, but alot of them don't get chosen. Many say that they prefer looks more. Or is it because their standard of talent is very high?
This question makes me nervous. It really depends. For example if someone's a little less than average looking, but like one of the best singers they've heard, then there are high chances for that person to get in.
However, since Korea has high expectations of "beauty", I believe that one would have to be decent, or at least okay looking, to get accepted. 6) (Trainee) I'm not familiar with South Korea Education. But if I manage to become a trainee, will I still have to go to school or college at age 17?
I think college is your choice, but I think the entertainment would provide high school education. 7) (Trainee) Will they force you to get plastic surgery if you are set to debut? & can you turn down the offer without making them change their mind about debuting you?
When you get accepted into the entertainment, you sign a contract which says that you allow them to let you have plastic surgery (i think, im not sure, pretty positive tho).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
